A Quest for Knowledge: the Next Reading Bowl Winners!
Help me give my students an opportunity to read award-winning books, encourage a love for reading, promote teamwork, and critical thinking skills, and become the Next Reading Bowl Winners!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Every year students from all over our district participate in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl competition. The competition utilizes ten, award-winning books and these books are compiled into the reading list each year.
We have some very enthusiastic readers that will participate in this year's bowl and they are already excited to begin reading.
Unfortunately, these award-winning books have not been ordered yet and are not available for checkout in our media center.
I have requested 3 copies of each of these books to give to our 4th and 5th-grade students at the beginning of the school year for them to begin reading and prepare them for the competition which takes place in January.
Having our books available at the beginning of the school year will give our students enough time to read and study for the reading bowl!
