My Project

Our percussion ensemble at Hillcrest HS has increased in size from 8 members to 20 in just one year. Having so many students is the best problem in the world to complain about, but it leaves us a little short on equipment at times.

One area where we are coming up short is a quality practice drum pad for every student.

We have been focusing on percussion fundamentals, which means lots of sticking exercises. Many of our students have been sharing the few pads we have, or playing on the floor. Both of these solutions promote poor technique, so it's in the interest of the group to get every student on their own practice pad and stand.

Mr. Emerson will only receive his materials if this project is fully funded by June 4.
