A Quality Keyboard for Quality Students

My Students

Sometimes, I think our little music program is the best-kept secret in our town. I've been very fortunate to be able to build a fantastic band and percussion program at this school. Students are able to choose to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument, and I get to teach them for all three years of their middle school experience.

Although I've been teaching for a long time, I will never get tired of seeing the look on a student's face when they hear themselves playing music on an instrument.

I also love helping students move from nervous beginners to excited intermediate players to confident veterans, playing quality music in groups and as soloists along the way.

My Project

It's time for an upgrade, folks. Our fantastic Elementary Music teacher, Jeanie Lee, teaches all of our younger students at PS 126, from Pre-Kindergarten all the way up to 4th grade. She also directs our excellent middle school chorus. She uses a piano to teach all of those classes, whether she's playing notes for them to sing, demonstrating the sounds of chords, performing a piece of music for study, or accompanying them as they sing on a concert.

Our sad little classroom piano has seen better days, and now it's on its last legs.

The last time we had it serviced the piano tuner sadly shook his head and told us that it couldn't be brought up to pitch. We've found a great digital piano from Kawaii that will perfectly suit our needs, last for years, and always play in tune.

Because of the inability to keep our classrooms at a steady temperature, keeping an acoustic piano in tune becomes a Sisyphean feat. This electric piano will respond consistently, no matter the temperature. We're hoping you can help us improve the sound and quality of our music instruction.
