My Students
"Using technology inspires student excitement for learning." I teach a class of diverse, energetic, and eager-to-learn 5th graders who love technology. They all come from single-parent homes who struggle to make ends meet; the spark in their eyes when I use any kind of technology tells me they are not used to using these devices at home, hence the need to continuously use technology to drive instruction in order to help them succeed.
My Project
I believe that practice makes perfect and the more students practice the skills in which they are weak, eventually they will be more successful. We are not lucky to have printers in our classrooms and as such, we have to rely on the main office to make copies which have to be requested 48 hours in advance. This is very inconvenient and hinders me from executing my job effectively because sometimes I need copies of worksheets that I want to use at the last minute or print out materials or worksheet online for the students. Since it is the protocol to put the request in within a 48-hour timeframe, I would not be able to use it at that given time. I would like to have a printer/copier in my classroom so when the need arises I can print and make the necessary copies. We all know the importance of having a printer and copier as teachers even at homes much less in the classroom so we can execute our jobs more effectively. Help me to help my students thrive since they would be able to receive daily worksheets for homework to practice their skills. Thanks!
