My Students
I have a bunch of highly motivated 4th graders ready to begin the year in distance learning mode. Thirty students, eager to learn, and make the best of all challenges ahead. These kids come from multicultural families, and present a wide variety of diverse learning skills and needs. They’re super smart and incredibly enthusiastic about learning and doing their best.
My Project
Students deserve the most optimal learning opportunities, no matter the circumstances. In our new reality of distance learning, technology is the most optimal tool.
I’m in big need of a tech boost!
My students are ready for distance learning, but as a teacher, in order to meet all student needs, I will need to up my technology tools. Currently my laptop is an aging dinosaur. It’s just not powerful enough to handle Zoom classes effectively, let alone run the simultaneous apps, videos, and webpages needed for engaging lessons and teaching remotely.
I’m looking for a new MacBook Pro with a strong processor and increased RAM that will alleviate glitches, and help facilitate strong lessons and student engagement without interruption. This laptop, the main hub of the digital and remote classroom, will help me create and deliver creative and innovative lessons, as well as allowing students and families to connect with me at ease. Furthermore, nearly a hundred percent of a teacher’s work life is stored on a laptop! From lessons to student work, even without distance learning, it’s become THE essential work tool.
Students will directly benefit in multiple ways. With the MacBook Pro, my lessons can be more interactive; more integrated with multimedia; and more diversified to meet all learners. I’ll have a lightning fast platform to simultaneously share more apps, videos, and presentations without worrying about glitches or programs shutting down. From student favorites such as Kahoot, Seesaw, or Nat Geo on YouTube, or just my own teacher-created lesson plans on Keynote or video, the MacBook will allow me to reach all my students and families in diverse ways, and allow them the best possible learning outcomes in our new virtual classroom.
