Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third-grade students are students who were in kindergarten when the world shut down due to COVID. Many of these students haven't been in a classroom for a while. They are missing social and academic skills due to the shutdown. Now, in my classroom, many students have difficulty focusing. They are not motivated by 'good jobs' and 'great work.'

Many of these students have had to learn how to be in a classroom and how to socialize with their peers all over again.

They need tangible items. These materials will help me provide a treasure box for my students. They will also help provide students with multiple opportunities to be engaged with our content. My students will be able to cash in their ClassDojo points for items that will be placed in the prize box. Students who have a hard time focusing in the classroom will also be able to use tools like the chair bands and the stools in order to provide them with a different seating option.
