This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have special needs; all are blind/low vision, and most have delays in other developmental areas as well. The low vision students need to be able to examine written material at a very close distance in order to make best use of their residual vision.
This portable printer and related supplies will allow me to provide material to individual students that they can look at closely; I can enlarge family photos so they can see facial details, or print pages from a children's book that they can view at close range.
I work in early education, and most of my little ones need individual copies that they can hold in any way they need in order to see most clearly. Paper gets easily torn and crumpled in their little hands. Being able to make more copies as needed will be a treasure.
