Remember the first time that you had to give a speech for your teacher and peers. My students instantly become nervous when giving a speech index cards become distractions in their hands and all focus is lost. A podium for these items to stay on will allow students to focus on their speech.
My students are great achievers, very energetic, eager to learn, creative and driven.
They attend a public school in Michigan in which we strive for excellence and strive to produce future lawyers, doctors, politicians and entrepreneurs. Each one of my students have very different personality, but one thing they all have in common is that they can be great public speakers.
Having a podium in my class will allow me to enhance my students public speaking skills. The podium will be somewhat of a safe barrier for student as many of them are nervous when speaking and standing out in front of large groups. I will be able to inspire my students to become great public speakers. Provide them with techniques that will keep the audience focused on them and what they are saying. I will be able to conduct debates in my class as well as have students provide speeches on topics they are learning about in the classroom. What a perfect time to start developing and enhancing their speaking skills.
By donating to this project you are helping me to instill confidence in my students as they become great speakers of the future.
Funding this project will help nurture speaking talents some students have but are nervous about showing in front of others. This project is geared towards making model students of the future that can speak well and effectively in front of others without fidgeting and being nervous.
