This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Being able to interact with science is critical to students who have limited vocabulary and exposure to science concepts. We do everything we can to increase our vocabulary and understanding everyday.

Our class is a variety of languages, educational needs and backgrounds.

My students come from different backgrounds, beliefs, and countries of origin. But they all want to Learn and are excited about new ideas. I try to do a lot of activities outside to engage all the students at their different learning levels.

My Project

I am asking for a Springhouse pop-up greenhouse which we will access everyday. It will be a tool used daily to discuss observations, basic needs and animal and plant adaptations, as well as why plants grow during certain times of year. This greenhouse will be a definite benefit to our studies and will allow for detailed instruction as well as independent study.

Being able to gain exposure and insight to science concepts by hands-on experiences is the best tool to reach my diverse language learners.

It also allows my students from different countries to share what they know about different plant life cycles as well as be more engaged in the classroom learning. Having this greenhouse is going to make a huge difference in the learning of all of my students.
