My Students
Our students matter. Our students are readers and explorers. Their excitement to read engaging books is clear. They also love to make and create. Our students are artists. They are very active. We want to give our students opportunities to authentically share their learning. Our student population is diverse. Our population breakdown is 26.7% African American, 26.3% Hispanic/Latino, 30.8% White, and 11.5% two or more races. 63.4% of our students are economically disadvantaged. 12.4% of our students have disabilities. 26.1% of our students have limited English proficiency. Students in kindergarten and first grade learn half their day in English and half of their day in Spanish.
Our students are very active, intelligent, creative, and determined.
Each year, we will add another grade of dual language immersion (DLI) classes until there is at least one section of DLI within each grade level. Finally, we are a nationally recognized Welcoming School, and we intentionally teach ally behavior especially by supporting the LGBT community and individuals.

The Library at our school has a lot to offer but we are in need of comfortable seating.
We want to give our students a safe space to read, relax, and enjoy our space.
Reading is so much more fun when we are given space to read.
Our students deserves areas that will help with sustain their reading time. Students love to read and they deserve areas that give them comfort and success. Furniture matters because it shows students that they matter and their space is crucial to support their reading. Students here deserve the very best! Please help us have comfortable seating in our Library.
