This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My art students are curious little explorers from a vibrant neighborhood. We're just a stone's throw from Dallas's Bishop Arts District, the perfect setting for a great art program. They're flexing their wings and working to build skills that will make them lifelong, independent learners, creative thinkers, and confident problem solvers. The Art Room is a wonderful place to develop those skills as well as perseverance and self-control. They have the ambition and curiosity, now they just need the tools for the journey.

My Project

Fidgety little bodies need an inviting place to sit during the lesson. Our old floor mats are desperately in need of replacement and these colorful yoga mats are just the thing to brighten our room and provide floor seating for the entire class.

A nice place to sit will help my students focus on the lesson.

Providing students with mats in a variety of colors makes seating the class more efficient. Our art room floors are cold linoleum, these thick foam mats are the perfect thing to keep them warmer and more comfortable while organizing whole group instruction seating on the floor.
