This school year just ended and I’m already looking ahead and looking forward to next school year! I teach 5th Grade in a title 1 school. We have students that come from every background imaginable. They have a wide range of social, emotional and academic needs. Often times our school is the one place these kids feel safe and welcomed. In our building we house grades 4 and 5 with approximately 8 sections of each grade. Students stay with me for reading, writing, math, science and social studies.
My Project
This table will give my students an opportunity to collaborate with each other as well as me. During reading, writing and math I provide my Students with small group instruction and this table will give my students a comfortable place to work together with me as well as each other. Right now we meet together on the floor or huddle together around a desk. This table is going to all my students the best opportunity to be successful. During math my students will benefit from small group instruction at their level, with this table we can work together providing students with the best opportunities to learn.
