My Project

I have some of the best students ever. They come from disadvantaged families and are enthusiastic to learn and be successful. However, they have a lot of challenges at home including not having enough to eat or clothes to wear, and they struggle with a lot of instability.

As a new elementary school counselor, I want to create an environment in my office where students feel safe and can deal with their struggles.

I want to have a warm, comfortable space where we can work together on overcoming some of the barriers that prevent learning.

Having things like a comfortable chair to sit in, warm lighting, a rug, and plants will help to create the environment they need. I am a first-year school counselor and need all the help I can get to provide for my students in the K-6 grades.
