I work in an early childhood special education classroom. My students range from three to five years-old. Sixty percent of my students have some sort of special needs, and the other forty percent are model students. My students come from a rural low-income community in Southeast Kansas.
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.
Every day is new and exciting! My goal is to make our classroom a magical place that the students love to come to!
My Project
Snacks. Art work. Puzzles. Conversation. Play Dough. Small Groups. Board Games. These are just a few of the things that are happening at the tables in our classroom daily in Preschool. Unfortunately, our current tables are too big for my student's little bodies. They are bulky and take up too much precious space in our classroom.
Children learn as they play, most importantly in play, children learn how to learn.
Sixty percent of the students in my classroom have special needs or developmental delays. These rectangle tables will allow my students to interact with one another while they work and play.
