My Students

We are a Title I school in a small, rural neighborhood. My kindergarten students are ready to explore and learn! They are energetic five and six-year-old girls and boys who love to be in the middle of everything. When given the opportunity, they can make substantial discoveries while having fun. The best part is that they do not even realize they are learning as they explore. I love seeing the excitement on their faces as they make these new discoveries with their friends.

My Project

We need another storage unit in order to have enough space for all students. The heavy-duty storage and communication center will be a great addition to our classroom. Currently, we have storage that puts multiple students' coats and backpacks together.

My students need to be able to place their coats and backpacks in a separate compartment in order to help contain germs and lice so they are not spreading them constantly.

This will also serve as a school to home communication center. The students will be able to place important papers, notes home and school work on shelves above and below their coats and backpacks. The separate compartments will assist them in learning to keep things in the appropriate place. Learning how to take care of things is an important skill that many students are still trying to understand in kindergarten. This storage and communication center will help them with mastering this important skill.
