This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Which books are most popular at the library or bookstore? Usually books on display grab people's attention.
My enthusiastic first graders attend a gifted magnet in which it is expected to be reading above grade level.
Most of my students are and the way to continue reading success is to read more. I constantly tell my kids that the more they read the better they will read.
My Project
Although I've worked hard to acquire many books for my students to read, our display system is less than optimal. I've collected books by themes but I don't have a proper way to display these books so students are more motivated to read them. This display bookcase will be used to display books that relate to the current theme. It will also be used to display books students create in class.

This will continue to motivate my first graders to read books of all kind. I know they will also feel special when they see their own published book on the shelf.
