This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Kindergarten to 24 of the sweetest, most loving, caring, and smartest 5 year old kids. They love coming to school to learn, and to be part of something special. I strive to make each day the best ever.
My students need a safe clean place to sit in the classroom.
The rug we currently have is only a few years old, but unfortunately it was damaged so bad that it can no longer be used. Our classroom has a tiled floor and without a rug, we have no place to gather as a classroom community. The rug will help teach our classroom to respect personal space and to focus on our learning.
A rug is such an essential part of Kindergarten and is used for everything!
We sit on the rug for morning meeting, we sit on the rug for language arts and math, we play on the rug during exploration, we talk on the rug during oral language development, we dance on the rug, we sing on the rug, and most importantly we become a community of learners on the rug. This rug will help us feel good about ourselves and our classroom. Thank you for your support and considering our project!
