Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are resilient, funny, curious, and determined. These first-grade students are in for a year of discovery, inquiry, investigation, and adventure! This will be their first full year on our campus. Due to the pandemic, they were at school online for a portion of their Kindergarten year.

Transition is a theme that could run through the timeline of many of their lives.

Most of the students in my class are learning English at school and working on keeping up their primary language, Spanish, at home.

As we continue to plan for this school year, we'd love to be able to create a space that is comforting, welcoming, and reflective of who we are as learners.

My Project

Our classroom is overflowing with books and mathematical tools, but we need to get organized!

These organizational tools will support students in self selecting right fit books and right fit math tools!

Our classroom library is leveled and ready to be shared, however we don't have enough space in the classroom to keep the books organized and ready to access in a quick and efficient manner. The mobile leveled library cart and bins will help us create systems and structures in order to get new books to students in a quick and seamless way. The All Purpose Teaching Cart will provide a space whereby students can pick the math tools that work best for them. When students have choice in a neat and organized environment they are more likely to use the tools that will help them succeed!
