My 3rd-grade class will comprise of 26 unique students. Many have gaps in learning or can’t learn the traditional way. I want to provide my students with many different choices while they are in my class. From flexible seating to the choice of learning and assessments that will best meet each individual need. I want to be able to differentiate my style of teaching to help kids who need the extra support while still providing enrichment for those who are ready for it.
While other schools in our district began the year with well over 50% of their Kindergarteners reading at grade level, my school started the year with only 27% of our Kindergarteners reading at grade level.
Our school faculty and staff are amazing and work vigorously to close this gap.
With the help of our community and all the generous donors out there, together we can and will make a difference in these students' lives.
My Project
My students really need these shelves so they can have a place to store any neccessary materials to aid them in learning.
Because this is the first year I will be implementing Flexible Seating, my students won't have the regular desk with a place to hold all their school supplies and books.
I plan on storing these materials in bins but I don't have any space for the bins to be neatly stored and accessible to my students so these shelves would solve our problem!
Each student will have 2 bins to store notebooks, manipulatives, workbooks, books, and any other school materials. With 26 students that 52 bins that I need to find a place for.
