A Place for Everything: Giving My Students Their Own Space!
Help me give my students a storage cabinet —a dedicated space of their own for their belongings — so they feel organized, secure, and ready to learn each day. A little support goes a long way!
I teach an incredible group of special education preschool students who bring joy, curiosity, and determination into the classroom each day. My students are bright, unique, and full of potential, but they also have diverse learning needs. Many of them thrive with structure, routine, and clear organization to help them feel secure and ready to learn.
Right now, my classroom lacks a dedicated storage space for my students’ belongings.
Without a designated place, transitions become more challenging, and some students struggle with misplaced items or distractions. A storage cabinet will provide an organized, easily accessible space where my students can safely store their belongings. Having a structured system will help create a calm, predictable environment where they can focus on learning and developing essential skills.
For my students, predictability and routine are key to feeling comfortable in the classroom. A storage cabinet will:
* Encourage independence – Students will learn to take responsibility for their belongings, an important life skill.
* Support sensory needs – A clutter-free space reduces anxiety and overstimulation, helping students self-regulate.
* Ease transitions – Knowing exactly where their items are will make moving between activities smoother.
* Increase focus – Less time spent searching for belongings means more time spent learning.
My goal for this project is to create a structured, supportive classroom where my students feel secure, confident, and ready to learn. By giving them their own space, I can help them develop independence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging.
Your support will make a lasting impact—thank you for helping my students succeed!
