My Students
The students in my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds and each brings something unique to our learning experience. Many students are second language learners just beginning to learn English. The majority of my students come from a low-income household.
Many of my students do not have the resources to buy the items necessary to enhance their education.
This includes basic school supplies, such as folders, binders, pencils, notebooks, and backpacks as well as books and other learning materials.
My Project
It's not easy to keep fifth graders organized! They have binders, folders, notebooks, pencil cases, and books that travel with them to multiple classes. This year we are focusing on finding a place for all of our things! I am creating storage bins for every student to neatly keep their things while they travel to other classes.
Our classroom is overflowing with books, which makes us very happy!
But many of our books can't even be found because they don't fit on the shelf! We need a new bookshelf to make sure all of our amazing books have a home until they are discovered by a curious student.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
