A Place for Everything, and Everything in A Place!
My students need drawers, cubbies, and organizers to keep supplies! We do math, spelling, & reading small groups so students have more individualized instruction but we need organization!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every day we're looking for new & exciting ways to reach our children-regardless of their ability levels. To achieve the most growth in each student, we're using small groups. Throughout the week I meet with Spelling, Reading, & Math small groups. The problem is that there are materials everywhere!
I teach 3rd Grade in a Title 1, low income school in Arkansas.
I have 23 students of mixed social, racial, economic, and family backgrounds. For many students, school is an escape and a place where learning meets adventure! We're constantly trying to bring excitement into learning and make school a place that our students are glad to be. Most of my students don't have computers to read, practice or play on at home, so traveling to different stations in the classroom gives them exposure to many different types of material.
My Project
By providing a place to keep all our materials, my students will be able to be more successful in their learning. The way we do our stations now takes up valuable instruction time when I have to reset each station for the next group's materials. With this new system however, students will simply grab the labeled basket for their station and get started right away. This will teach them the importance of organization, how much it can help, and it will give them more time to practice their skills.
We are so grateful for anything you're willing to donate to help out our project.
My students are thrilled to have an easy way to locate their materials and be prepared for stations as soon as it's time to start each day. Thank you for making a difference!
