A Place For Everything and Everything Has Its Place!
My students need puzzles and a way to stay organized! Right now we don't have a place to keep their worksheets, notebooks that go home, projects, etc. separate and organized.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a school filled with wonderful students and teachers who want to inspire and educate all of the students. I am the behavior special education teacher for the K-5th grade. I currently have 1st - 4th grade with 6 students who are with me all day; along with 7 other students who come to visit me for 20-45 minutes a day. Our school is around 80% free and reduced lunch. The majority of my students come from a single parent family. All of my students are in my room due to their behaviors. Their behaviors prevent them from being in a general education classroom. I also have 2 full-time associates who assist the 6 students throughout the day.
My students are amazing individuals who are capable of incredible things.
The students require a variety of items, materials, tools, and ideas to keep them motivated and engaged in their learning. My students spend a lot of time in my classroom and can become bored with the materials we have available. New and exciting is always a fun way to start a lesson!
My Project
The mailbox is going to give the students a specific place for their completed work and communication notebooks to go. Every student in my classroom has a specific colored book box, notebook, sticker on their I-Pad, sticker on their Chromebook and locker. This will continue onto their specific slot in their mailbox. This helps the students stay organized and understand where their stuff goes.
Puzzles are a great way for students to use their minds and be problem solvers!
I currently don't have any puzzles that are appropriate for older students. They would enjoy doing puzzles throughout the day.
The mailbox will improve my students' lives by helping them stay organized and have their own spot to keep their completed work. The puzzles will also be a great way to incorporate problem-solving and independent work.
