My Students

Teaching Kindergarten is like herding cats. That's why having a special place to sit is crucial for having a positive learning environment.

I teach a group of 24 kindergarteners that are excited about learning.

Many of my students enter kindergarten with limited English and over half of my class receives free and reduced lunch. I believe that students learn best in an engaging, hands-on environment and I work hard to create an environment that makes students feel successful and want to learn.

My Project

In Kindergarten we spend a good portion of our learning time gathered on the floor for daily calendar time, math activities, story time, and morning meeting. Our classroom gathering rug is small and crowded. The Lots of Dots carpet makes the transition from my students chair to floor easier with this organizational carpet where each child has a dot of their own for independent personal workspace. The carpet is an essential part of making students feel comfortable, safe and eager to learn.

In order to be successful and have the optimal learning environment, my students need a Lots of Dots carpet where all my students have a place of their own to sit.
