My Students
Our classroom community makes learning exciting! I teach in an elementary school with a diverse population. Some students come to school with prior experiences, but for some it is their first time in a formal classroom.
I love their curiosity and love is learning.
My students are active and engaged in their own learning! Since Kindergarten is the first formal education most will experience they are full of wonder. The more knowledge you give the the more they want to learn.
My Project
Kindergarten can be an intimidating experience. For most students the many of their classroom learning experiences happen during rug time. This is where we sing, build, share, and talk about what's important to them. It's a place where we build community and learn about kindness, responsibility and respect for one another.
Everyone wants to feel like they belong.
In Kindergarten this often means having a place that is just for you. This rug provides the space needed so that each of my students will have their own square to sit in. This helps them to learn about how to be part of a community of learners.
