Our school serves 540 students from small rural towns. Half of our students are on the free or reduced lunch program, and many are a part of our backpack club that receives food to take home over weekends and breaks.
Our learners are energetic, thrive on positive attention/support in the classroom, and love to make personal connections to what they are learning.
They love engaging activities where they can be active learners, share their ideas, and work with each other.
We are a family centered school of educators that believes it takes a village! They are never MY students or YOUR students - they are OUR students.
My Project
Our school has a small drying rack from before I started teaching Art at our school in 2014. This rack is well loved and many of the shelves have seen better days.
Our students need a new drying rack that will fit the large size artwork paper.
This will help prevent their projects from bending, curling, and sticking to one another's projects while they are drying. Our current drying rack isn't large enough for our typical 12x18 artwork papers, and will not fit any of our larger sized works of art. We would love to have a drying rack that would fit our projects, and that we would be able to load more easily than our current rack. This would make the flow of clean up quicker which would mean we could spend more time creating and less time waiting in line while we struggle to fit our papers on a rack that has many misshapen shelves.
