My students are amazing and are eager to learn. In the first grade, they are learning their basic foundations that will help them be successful in their future. They are learning how to read, write, and do basic math skills.
Our school has a majority of the students who receive free and reduced-price lunch and we don't have a lot of extra money for additional items in our school like new rugs.
I could really use a new rug because we spend a lot of time doing carpet time and when we do this the students are more engage than when they sit at their desk.
My Project
Carpet time is very important in the first grade and my students seem to learn much better when they can sit beside their partner and work with them.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a chance to sit on the carpet vs their desk.
The product that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get up and move to carpet instead of sitting at their seat all day.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
