My students need a carpet to serve as a meeting place in our classroom.
I teach 20 energetic, joyful and fun-loving students. They are five or six years old. They are little sponges and absorb every detail of anything I try to teach them. They are full of energy and excitement. We are a charter school in middle Georgia. We have wonderful, supportive families and community.
This class of super students deserve a super environment for learning.
Each classroom has a theme and I have a vision of our class being full of little superhero students. Our motto will be that "Learning is our Super Power."
Some of the best moment in a kindergarten classroom happen when we gather together on the carpet as a group. First thing every day we have a morning meeting where each child gets to share something with the class if they would like. We sit together on the carpet to share and talk. A lot of teaching is done in this close personal environment and it is the perfect place to enjoy listening to a good book.
The meeting rug really is the center of our classroom bonding and learning.
The rug that is currently in our classroom is stained and damaged beyond normal wear and tear.
