My softball athletes are dedicated, hard-working athletes that take great care and pride in our field and their performance. They sacrifice most of their summers to practice and get better to help us reach our goals during the Fall season. They do fundraisers to help us obtain equipment and to maintain our field. Therefore, they do not take for granted what we have, and they truly appreciate what is given to them.
Our field has to host three team's (middle school, JV and Varsity) game schedules and practices.
It is difficult to manage three team's events on one field with a limited budget in a small school. Yet, my girls remain loyal and steadfast to our team goals and endeavors despite the conditions and frustrations. In fact, the varsity team achieved a third place finish in the state play-offs this past season. The parents and players work in-season and out-of-season to make themselves and our program better!
My Project
Three teams (middle school, junior varsity and varsity) must practice within a limited time and limited space after school. Consequently, practice plans must be strategic and efficient in order to meet the needs of the players and coaches due to limited field space and batting cages available.
Having a pitching machine would help our players get exponentially more hitting reps and increase players and coaches' safety; therefore, increasing our girls' chances for success this season.
The equipment would never be taken for granted and would teach our players to take care of it, so it could last and benefit our program for a very long time.
Please consider making a huge impact and helping our program!
