This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher in a general education class of 24 students. I want to provide my students with a wonderful learning environment full of hands-on experiences that encourage them to use their creative minds while learning the curriculum and core concepts.
My school is located in a high poverty neighborhood and a lack of funding requires that teachers spend their own money to provide many of the resources for their students.
My students are enthusiastic learners who deserve the best education and materials to support their learning.
My Project
Puzzles are such a fantastic teaching tool and activity. It's a wonderfully engaging activity to allow my students to use during independent work time. Completing puzzles with a partner requires them to work together, engage in problem solving skills, and take turns. My students love the puzzle table, but unfortunately I don't have a wide variety of jigsaw puzzles. I think my students would love to work on the Animals Up Close puzzle set that has real-life photographs of a variety of wild animals.
The art of teaching is really about figuring out ways to teach the curriculum throughout the day by providing my students with fun, hands-on learning opportunities that motivate them to learn.
These materials will provide my students with hours of learning and FUN. Thank you for your support and generosity and for helping me teach my students to love learning!
