Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The students in our program are grades 6-8 in a special education life skills setting. Each student is a special individual with his/her own strengths and needs. Our school is a large middle school in Texas filled with wonderful staff and students who support our students in their daily endeavors.

Our students are children with special needs who utilize many forms of media to meet their educational needs. Photos are motivational to them and provide a stimulus for language: both written and oral.

2 cameras and a photo printer are needed to allow students to take photos of activities and provide a photo history of our school year.

Your help will provide opportunities to build language and facilitate writing skills through the use of actual photos of student activities. An added benefit of scrapbooking and language activities is the visual memory book sure to be treasured by students and staff alike.
