This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have been producing digital projects using a variety of software. However, we have not been able to print all of them because of the limited amount of ink available. Although presentations are great, displaying their work permanently will boost their self-esteem and love for math.

My seventh grade students attend a school where the majority of the student body qualifies for the federal meal program and is not English proficient.

They are all excited about doing hands-on activities and math projects. They are provided these opportunities to help them improve their language and math skills in a fun, educational way.

My Project

My students will finally be able to print their multimedia work! The math stories that they will create and their explanations of the solutions to problems will develop their written language skills while reinforcing what they have learned in the math classroom. This will expand on the presentations we have been conducting in class where due to limited time only randomly selected students explain their work to the class.

All my students are artists.

They create, I provide feedback, and (due to limited time) about half of the class presents their work to the class. We do not have supplies to print all their beautiful work. Printing their work will allow them to have it on display permanently to remind them of what they are capable of accomplishing.
