A Photo Scanner for My Artists!

My Students

Our students are dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic young artists. Our school emphasizes visual and performing arts as a subject area just as vital and important as their academics. In my Video Production class, students not only learn performance skills and production technique, but also explore creative self expression. Each student learns the technical aspect of filmmaking and postproduction, but also are required to utilize their language arts skills as storytellers, their theatre training as performers, and their science and logic skills as editors and animators. They love to come to school every day to share their passion for film and have truly bonded as collaborators.

My students are truly creative artists and out-of-the-box thinkers who are unafraid to experiment, explore new film and animation techniques, and apply those skills in their other subject areas.

My students are versed in many art forms. Some are born performers, others are true visual artists, and the key to the video department's success is finding ways to highlight and strengthen each child's ability to contribute to our collaborations.

My Project

My animation students need a way to digitize their artwork for animation projects. Some students forgo using digital tools and prefer to hand-draw their animations, backgrounds, storyboards, and other artwork to support their projects.

Currently, we do not have a good way to capture and digitize their work to use in postproduction.

This flatbed scanner will help to bridge the gap between digital and analog art forms and will help to bring an efficient and professional workflow to my video classroom. This scanner is high quality and versatile and will be able to help support many other projects around the building.
