it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Math is a subject that most students struggled with due to the fact that there are many formulas and steps to remember in order to derive an answer. The class can be boring if students lack the motivation to learn. However, having a phomemo portable thermal printer accessible to students will allow them to immediately print out math projects and examples that are real life applications to the concepts that are taught in class. Students can work in groups to research different conceptual math topics such as Linear functions, Quadratics and Exponential functions and find real life examples of the concepts and teach their peers. They will be able to print the images and create a collage poster to show in a gallery walk strategy to present the information. Having the printer will allow students to research, read, write and print in a timely and immediate manner. Students do not need to struggle looking for a printer on their own or at a public space due to limited technology. By eliminating the technology barrier, students can focus their concentration on the learning instead. My goal for this project is to build conceptual understanding with an emphasis in literacy in my math classes. My students are special because they are resilient and persistent in learning so I would love to help them concentrate on the learning and not on finding a printer to use.
