A Personalized and Balanced Learning Space

Help me give my students a classroom with a calming and relational ambiance.

My Students

My students are natural leaders who are still honing in on their skills and discovering their confidence. With their focus on academics during a global pandemic, they are becoming leaders who will remind the world what unique learners can do when given the space and freedom to just go get it done! Many of them come from homes where their leadership is depended on, as their parents are gone a lot -- making a living with the hopes that their scholars will reach greater success than themselves in this highly competitive and often unfair world. Despite their documented disabilities, my students have the grit and perseverance needed to reach their goals whether learning remotely, in person, or in a hybrid format.

My Project

In person learners deserve a classroom that is flexible and able to adjust to personality and mood! Allowing my students to choose things in the classroom that express their identity will allow me to continue to foster the ever-important relationships that are needed in Maslow's Hierarchy of Learning, so that my students can thrive and succeed in the learning workspace.

Personalized water cups with stickers and color that allow students to show off their individuality is just the beginning - add to that the ability to have some mood lighting with an LED floor lamp and we have the beginnings of a creative and unique space designed with the students in mind.

Having fidget tools and visual timers available will remind students that their uniqueness is not an obstacle to learning... that as their teacher, I will provide students with tools that will help meet their learning needs.

The extension cord surge protector is a must have in a socially distanced classroom. Students currently have access to extension cords in my room, but the surge protectors offer a safer way to utilize our resources, and allow for additional charging ports.

All of the products I have selected were chosen with the learners in mind, with an intention to create a learning environment that is inviting, friendly, stimulating, and personalized for the students.
