This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager, motivated, and excited to learn. I have a classroom that consists of 5 and 6-year-old kindergartners that for some, this is their first time in a school setting. Many of my students come to school with limited social skills and vocabulary to thrive in an educational setting.
They have great attendance and smiling faces as they enter my classroom each morning.
They are positive and happy every day. Although they have so many skills to learn, their hard work is evident in all they do. Our school is a STEAM Magnet with a supportive community. Many students ride the bus to attend our school and qualify for free or reduced lunch.
My Project
I would like to request clear cubbies for each of my students in my classroom. This will support me in keeping my students and their materials as germ free as possible.
With my school starting to organize for reopening of our classrooms, I know it is imperative that my students are supplied with their own clean cubby to organize their own personal materials for learning.
Having my student's materials separated is important because it will help their overall well-being as we navigate a hybrid style of learning in a kindergarten classroom.
