Help me give my students penny folders to collect pennies as we do a Finacial Literacy Activity with stories.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Welsh's classroom raised $368
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This financial literacy project will be a series of lessons on money and coin collecting. Students will look at the details on coins to better understand their meaning and value. Students will learn how pennies and other coins are made and where they are made.
When students are able to participate in hands-on real-life investigations of everyday things they use like coins they better understand the world around them.
Students will be able to take away not only a bit of knowledge about coins but also be able to continue collecting coins and keeping them in an interesting and organized way.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
