Help me give my students the classroom supplies that they need in order to have fun while they are learning! We love to make our classroom interactive and hands-on and this will really help!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hi All! I just wanted to let you know a little bit about our students! I work in a 4th grade ICT classroom setting with a co-teacher in a New York City public school. My co-teacher and I teach students with disabilities in a mainstream classroom setting. We are in a Title 1 school where all of the students belong to the free and reduced lunch program.
My students are hard-working, creative, and excited to learn new things!
Our students are terrific kids that are eager to learn more about literature, writing, and grammar! Unfortunately, many of our students do not come to school with the supplies they need everyday and with their basic needs met so it is usually up to us teachers to help them be successful in any way that they can!
My Project
These supplies and materials will be helpful to our students to be prepared for all of the lessons that we will teach in our fun, exciting classroom environment.
Being prepared in our classroom, is sometimes a hard thing to do as a lot of our students come from low-income families.
So, we try to supply our lovely students with everything they need as much as we can on our own, however, sometimes, we need a little help!
We use the Post-It Easel paper and chart markers on a daily basis for our creative anchor charts and group work. We are constantly using copy paper to make copies and print worksheets for our students who do not have access to those materials at home! We love having a surplus of crayons, markers, construction paper, post-its, and tape for our students to use in the classroom as they don't usually come equipped with these items to school (or at home). Lastly, we use scotch tape all the time in our classroom so the kids have access to fixing ripped materials or taping things into their notebooks for our lessons.
Any contributions would be so greatly appreciated so we can assist our students in being prepared every day so they can be successful learners!
