Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When students are given the opportunity for flexible seating it allows them to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times students are given the opportunity to choose a location in the classroom that works for them.
By giving students, the opportunity to choose where to sit when they work independently, they are more engaged and produce more work.
The materials that I have selected will give my students additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at their desk or other tables. The stools will also allow movement without disruptions. These will be extremely beneficial for students that just need to get the wiggles out.
The children's chair will be used in the calming corner, allowing for more flexible seating. The materials that I have selected will help students self-regulate and provide a quiet area to work independently. The building materials will be used in the calming corner to help students regulate and students will also be able to build during free time.
