Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sometimes we just need a break from the world. The tools will be placed in a calm corner in the classroom. Students will take time to self-regulate when feeling stressed or overwhelmed at school.

We all have ups and downs in our lives and having a safe and quiet environment will help us reboot our thoughts and actions.

Students struggle with the stresses of catching up academically and relearning how to build relationships with their peers while also dealing with what is happening outside of the classroom. This specific place in our classroom will give students the opportunity to put to use the SEL tools and strategies they are learning in class, including magnetic tiles, plush toys and stress balls. They will practice how to regulate their feelings so that they can become more engaged and focused during lessons.
