I teach at a small neighborhood school in Chicago's west side. Nearly half of our students are English language learners and seventy-seven percent of our students are low income.
My 26 fourth graders are full of energy and love to learn!
They amaze me every day with their dedication to school and our classroom community. I strive every day to make our classroom a welcoming and safe environment that encourages my students to take risks and become better learners and global citizens!
My students love to read! Their passion for reading and learning amazes me every day. They are constantly recommending titles to each other and reflecting on the current books they are reading. Having a variety of books means I can reach all of my readers based on their interests and reading levels. In addition to improving their reading skills, the bookcases will help my students learn organization skills.
Each time students open a book they are transported to a new place!
Students who are better readers become better writers, scientists, mathematicians, and global citizens. Thank you for helping my students further their love of reading!
