Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students learning English write every day, in notebooks, on stickies, on notecards and lined paper.
We write about our culture and identity, the seasons and global warming, our community needs and hopes and so much more.
Learning to write in a new language can be daunting and even scary. However, with the themed paper my students will have even more choice for how they express themselves in this new language not just through writing, but through the images on the paper. My students love to see their work displayed throughout our school building and they take so much pride in crafting their writing for class.
The pencil sharpener, stickers and reusable sticky notes will create a setting for me to encourage and engage my students. They need sharp pencils to write drafts and create drawing. They stickers to adorn their work (and sometimes their faces). The joy these items bring to our classroom is clear and heartwarming!
