My Students

Many of the students in my classroom have experienced trauma in their lives, and school is their safe place. My classroom serves students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities. My students work hard and they love to explore, discover and learn.

The typical student in my class struggles with basic phonemic awareness and letter recognition.

About 90% of my students are African American or Latino. The opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among our student population.

My Project

I am requesting A LOT of cleaning and disinfecting supplies to share with our school nurse. She takes care of over 500 students and her supplies are dwindling. I am asking for lysol spray and lysol wipes along with tissues and paper towels for her to keep in her office. She does so much for our school community and I wanted to do some thing to make her job a little bit easier. Along with fighting covid-19, there are so many other viruses that make our students sick, we want to keep them as healthy as possible. Thank you!
