My Students

I teach engineering courses (Engineering, programming, CAD tools etc.) and I'm in charge of the shop. I serve 88 students at a school that is very STEM-oriented.

My students (28 girls and 50 boys) are very engaged in robotics in particular.

They love to make custom parts in the shop and to use the 3-D printer as well. We have a CNC machine and they also love to program it and see the parts coming out of it.

Over the past three years, some have been accepted at MIT, Princeton, Caltech, Georgia Tech, Stanford and other prestigious universities, some of them with full scholarships.

I'm very proud of my students!

My Project

At the beginning of March, my robotics team qualified for the World competition hosted in Houston in April. We all know how these things went!

Nevertheless, I would like to prepare for when our robotics activities resume -- hopefully in the fall -- and get a nice camera that will capture our activities.

We will use the pictures for memories (the yearbook), for promotion purposes (our Facebook page and web site), and also as a tool to improve the robot. It is essential to remember the steps, what choices were made in order to correct them when things don't turn out my students had wished.

In other words, the camera will help my students learn how to build a good robot through trial and error, which is part of the iterative process in the field.

Thank you very much for your consideration!
