My Students

We live in a very print rich environment. Students need to know a variety of ways to communicate. My students need a little help with written communication. Slant boards, adapted pencils and grips give them the edge they need.

My students are mostly served in a cross categorical Multiple Handicapped Unit.

There are currently 5 students from 2nd-4th grades. All 5 students are diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. They range from partially mainstreamed to those who are nonverbal and self contained in my room.

My Project

Slant boards- Help bring work up to eye level and reduce stress on wrist joints and help with fine motor tasks. Adapted pencils- help pencils not to roll around in the students hands. Pencil Grip- Assist in getting students fingers into the correct position to aid in writing. Adapted Writing Paper- Helps students in tracking where they are writing.

These products will also benefit other students in the school both typical and special needs students.

These products will only serve to enhance my students lives and make a difficult world easier to live in!
