This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Returning to the school building comes with some challenges and anxiety as we continue to battle and forge ahead despite Covid-19 and the newest Delta variant. Many of my students already come ill-prepared with supplies for school and after the previous year we want to make sure that we have as many supplies for learning, sanitizing and cleaning to start our year off on a healthy note. The students are excited to be back and in person so please help us in our quest for a successful school year!

My Project

If we have learned anything from last year, it's that each day brings new challenges. Although we fully intend on being in person every day, the reality is education needs to be flexible.

Being able to send students home with laminated word banks, multiplication tables, dry erase boards and markers will be essential for both in person learning and remote learning if needed.

This will not only help alleviate the burden for parents sending in school supplies but it will help reduce lost student work should we need to quickly transition between teaching modalities.

We are all pumped for this new school year and the 5th graders are ready to get to work! Please consider helping us bring success to our students in in the South Bronx!
