it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach reading intervention to our most struggling readers. My classroom is the former book storage room behind the library. With my students' input, I have been working hard to make this space as welcoming and uncloset like as possible. My classroom is one of only 2 rooms left in the building with very old, very dirty carpeting. Even though I did my best to vacuum and wash the carpet over the summer, it remains a dark gray eyesore.
All students deserve to learn in a welcoming space - I'm asking for a colorful rug to mask the old carpeting and lighten up our windowless room.
