This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from many diverse backgrounds which require many different approaches to teaching and learning. My students come in every day excited and ready to learn. Our school is a low-income school where every child receives free breakfast, snacks, and lunch.
Many of our students come from homes that speak a language other than English, and having the tools in the classroom my students need in order to succeed is very important to me!
Knowing my students come from different backgrounds and learn differently, I want to make sure they are well-equipped with all of the materials they need so that they can all learn to their highest potential and be prepared for the future.
My Project
This year, I am teaching word study. My students love learning new words, spelling patterns, and phonics skills every week! For this program, you need to write words on the white board. The easel we have right now is old and stains when you write on it which requires us to clean the white board every time it is used instead of just using the white board eraser.
Having a new easel would save time when teaching and learning
With a new easel, my students would be able to maximize more time on learning and less time on cleaning! Our classroom would benefit greatly from this new easel!
