My Students

Help us sit comfortably so we can learn! The rug that I have in my room is left over carpet from my house. It is not very clean, has fringes around the edges, and the kids pick at the carpet instead of paying attention during class. To learn one must be focused and not pick at the carpet!

My scholars are a diverse group of students.

I have 20 scholars-10 boys and 10 girls. They are all in kindergarten and are all very sweet who care for one another. They attend a Greek Immersion Public Charter School in North Carolina. They learn Greek 2 hours a day and then learn the Common Core Curriculum in English. They are a bright group of kids made up of all different types of personalities.

My Project

With this new rug my students will be able to sit more comfortably and not be distracted by picking at the carpet. They will also be able to use the rug as an additional resource when identifying their numbers and letters as well as when writing their numbers and writing their letters because the new rug has the alphabet and numbers 1-20 on it. My students will also be able to use the rug as a comfortable place to read and a comfortable place to learn when I do lessons on the rug.

I could really use this new rug for the rest of the year and for years to come!

It will provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for my students and they will be able to learn instead of being distracted by picking at the old carpet I have now.
