A New Math Center Will Make a Great Addition !

My students need a storage unit for math manipulatives to help them practice new math concepts and add onto the math foundations they already have. The clear bins will help with organizing.

My Students

I have the privilege to work with wonderful, curious, creative, and caring 3rd graders in Chinatown in New York City. I teach in an inclusion class (both general education students and students with special needs). It is so wonderful so see all of the students guiding each other's learning throughout each school day, be it in a core academic subject, an art project, or on a field trip.

I teach at a Title I school which is located near several housing projects.

Many of the students receive free lunch. Most of the students speak Chinese and English, and my elementary school is predominantly made up of Chinese, African-American, and Hispanic children. My school was a Showcase school last year for integrating art into academic curricula, and our students love opportunities to demonstrate what they have learned through art.

My students are always excited to learn new things, use new materials, and have new experiences!

My Project

My students need tons of organization in the classroom, and they will love having a beautiful math center to display all of their math tools! Many of my students need to use these manipulatives on a daily basis, and having a clear home for these tools will help them be more independent in getting what they need.

My students, especially the students with special needs, need to have a classroom that is organized and clear, one in which they can easily find what they need to use to support their learning.

This new math center and bins will greatly help my students become more confident mathematicians!
